What follows is some information for the performers at the 4th Annual Greenfield Rock Festival on July 10th and 11th 2009 in Greenfield, MA. This page will be the primary way we get information to all the Rockfest performers and will ultimately contain all the information you will need about set times, loadin times, parking, merch, guests, equipment, etc. This page will be updated fairly often so check back here regularly especially if you have any questions.

Each band that sells at least 5 tickets is allowed two guests to help them with merch, carrying equipment, etc. Please register your guests with us when you arrive. You can also send us a note right now with their names. Your guests and band members will be issued band wristbands. Only your guests and band members will be allowed to use the band entrance.
There is very limited parking right next to the venue, but a good deal of parking fairly close. After you are done unloading you will need to move your vehicle and park in one of the lots nearby (P's on the map) especially if you have trailer. Please don't park in any no-parking areas as you probably will be towed. The lot across Main Street behind between Davis Street and Chapman Street has many spaces and is also the best bet for trailers unless you get lucky and find two parallel spaces on the street.
Grumpy's Pantry will be serving food at the venue. The venue is also right in the middle of Greenfield. Antonios Pizza is one of our sponsors and is right up Miles Street. There is also a Mexican place, Thai, Greek, Korean, Vegan / Tofu, a pub, a couple of cafes and a drug store all within a 4 minute walk of the Energy Park. We will also have plenty of free water for the band members.
This is an outdoor venue with two covered stages. You won't be in the sun or rain when you are performing, but you might want to bring a small tent or a tarp to cover your merch table and equipment if you don't like being in the sun selling your merch or there is the threat of rain. If you plan on bringing a tent let us know so we can reserve you some space.

Speaking of merch - you should plan on bringing your own table or let us know and we can rent you one for $10. Please let us know right away if you need a table.

Important: On the day of the show if you are not going to arrive by your suggested load in time listed above please call us at 413-522-1409. If you do not and you are late we reserve the right to bump you to later in the show or not have you perform.
Friday evening the concert starts at 4:30 (gates open at 4:00) and runs until 10PM. We would like the first 3 acts to arrive by 3:30PM and load on their respective stages. We will sound check the first two opening acts at approximately 4PM. Quick sound checks for all other bands will be done at the end of their setup times. For all other bands if you arrive before 3:45PM you will be able to drive close to the stage to unload your equipment. If you plan on arriving after the gates open at 4:00 you will have to carry your gear the from the parking lot to the holding area behind the stage you are playing on.
On Saturday the concert starts at 11:30 (gates open at 11:00) and runs until 10PM. All bands can load in between 10 and 10:30AM if desired. The opening bands are expected to arrive at 10AM. Sound check for the opening bands is at 10:30. Quick sound checks for all other bands will be done at the end of their setup times.
Your options for load in on Saturday:
1) If you show up before 10:30AM you can drive right up to the area where we will be storing equipment for the stage 1 and 2 and drop your stuff off. There will be staff there to help you unload.
2) If you show up after 10:30AM you can unload yourself in the parking lot next to the venue. If you're on stage 2 it is only about 75ft from the vehicle / band entrance. If you're on stage 1 you will need to carry your equipment about 250ft. around the edge of the crowd area to the storage area behind the stage.
3) There is also a back entrance to the Energy Park (see map), but there is decent flight of stairs that must be used. The advantage of this option is that you don't have to carry your equipment thru the crowd - it's about the same distance from the station stage as the front entrance. Again, if you show up after 10:30AM you will be on your own for unloading.
Please check in with us at the band gate as soon as you arrive. We will hand out wristbands for band members and guests if applicable. Only people with band wristbands will be allowed in at the band gate and in the areas where equipment is stored.
Please DO NOT tear down your amps or drums on stage. Move them off the stage first so we can get the next band on quickly, just like the band before you did for you. Also, please encourage your fans to go to your merch table and NOT come on the stage to talk right after your set as this slows things down.
The set times will be posted around the venue. It is is your responsibility to keep track of when you should be setting up on the stage for your set. When the band playing on the stage before you is finished moving off you should immediately start moving your equipment on and begin your setup. This will be happening while a band is playing on the other stage so try tune somewhat quietly please.
One additional note on equipment: While we will attempt to provide a safe and secure enviroment for the Greenfield Rock Festival, this is an outside, open venue. We have never had any issues in the past, but we strongly recommend keeping a close eye on your equipment, especially the small stuff. We will have a good number of security people for the event and they will be advised to keep an eye out for non-band members carrying out band equipment - especially if they're not using the band entrance / exit. However, we cannot guarantee security for all your equipment - any loss or theft is strictly your responsibility. We also recommend that after you play your set that you load out your equipment as soon as possible.
Updated July 8th
There is no rain date. In the event of torrential rain and thunderstorms we might be forced to cancel or stop the show. We apologize in advance, but our insurance requires this. If there is a high certainty of this in the forecast before the show we will move the event to an indoor venue, but we cannot promise that all bands will be accommodated at the new site. Thanks for your understanding on this. As of July 8th the weather forecast looks good enough that we will not be moving indoors.
The Energy Park is a town park. No drugs, alcohol, smoking or dogs are allowed inside the park. Performers obviously under the influence may be asked to leave by the local police who will be patrolling the area.
